I'll never forget the day in 2020 that internet went from a "nice thing to have" to a requirement for most households around America. Hit like a hurricane by Covid 19, RV Broadband Solutions LLC tripled in growth over the last 6 months. Children, educators, parents, grandparents, aunts, uncles, cousins, health care professionals, pastors, etc. in rural America now required something that was not readily available to them.
Although there has been a lot of talk from major carriers such as AT&T and Verizon for many years about expanding internet services to rural America, the plan was still years (or longer) away from actually becoming a reality. Some may say that RV Broadband Solutions, LLC happened to be in the right place at the right time, but I however am just thankful that our company could be a solution to a huge problem. A pandemic. An internet crisis for rural America. Covid 19 has not been easy on us as a country, but it has especially has not been easy on a rural internet company or a customer of a rural internet company.
With towers becoming overloaded in every city and state, we've experienced more issues than we would have ever liked to. During Covid 19, a lot of us have became work-from-home employees, while also having to become full time teachers, caretakers, telehealth experts, zoom masters, kissers of the scrapes and bumps and much more. In 2020, we now worship on Sunday from our homes and cars, our teachers show us a math problem on 7 different apps versus your common pencil and paper, our doctors listen to our cough over a muffled speaker from a 10 year old laptop that we never ending up selling on Facebook marketplace, we've buried healthy loved ones due to a virus that was smarter than the medical technology we've been working on for 100s of years and we've recreated images in our head of our 7th grade teachers singing silly songs to help us remember things like PEMDAS.
Personally, this has been the hardest year of my life. I've watched dormant traits of mental and personality disorders become active in our children, only to be muffled by a mask. I've even watched it happen to myself. This year I lost my last grandparent and I often ponder if it wasn't part of God's greater plan, as I know they would be miserable in the new world we live in today. I no longer lay down at night to go to sleep, but only to worry about what tomorrow's book will be like for internet and our company.
As many people are now being prescribed Ambien and Xanax from a Pez dispenser to be able to deal with all the worldly changes in 2020, I wanted you guys to know that my drug of choice is my customers. The little tag in my notifications on social media that says "Jenna received all A honor roll this semester and we couldn't have done it without Safari Solutions LLC" is my drug of choice for this pandemic. It's the very little things like this that keep this company medicated and in good health. We just wanted to say thank you to all of you that have supported us in 2020 and made us who we are today.
